System Installation
The MBM crossing installation begins with removal of the existing track and building of the grade upon which each MBM panel is placed. After the bed is leveled and the base rock installed, the panel is then lowered into the framed area. The continuous welded rails are set in place and clipped to pre-gauged plates. Grout is then injected underneath to get rid of voids. Wrapping up the process is installation of optional asphalt flangeway filler or the standard rubber flangeway filler and completion of grade work.
